Biography

How his work draws on Islamic jurisprudence and psychology.

Muhammad Kasprowicz was born and raised in Germany. He has lived, studied and worked in a range of cultural settings, and has been based in the Arab Gulf States since 2005.

He studied Islamic theology and law through to a Master of Jurisprudence (M.Jur.) in Islamic Jurisprudence, and combined that with training in psychology, coaching and leadership. Since 2018 he has practised psychological counseling and coaching, and works as a consultant and trainer alongside it.

Part of that practice is specialist work with Muslim clients and communities, and with the professionals and institutions supporting them. The rest of his work is with clients of every background, and questions of culture, values and belonging come up there as well.

The combination helps him tell apart what is psychological, what is cultural and what is religious in someone’s situation. These are easily confused, and it matters when they are.

To be confirmedThe 2005 date for residency in the Arab Gulf States is carried over from the legacy website and has not been re-confirmed. Confirm the year, or the sentence is published without it.

To be confirmedTwo claims that appeared on the legacy site (volunteer pastoral counseling, and involvement in Islamic Psychology research and training projects) are deliberately not published here until it is confirmed that they are current and that Muhammad wants them public (§44.7).

Where the perspective comes from

Germany, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates.

Three places, in sequence. Each one is a reason the work reads a situation the way it does.

  1. Germany

    Born and raised

The foundational cultural context, and the origin of the German-language side of this practice. European professional norms, institutions and expectations are not something Muhammad reads about at a distance.

  2. Saudi Arabia

    Islamic theology and law

Study of Islamic theology and jurisprudence through to the M.Jur., alongside living and working in the Gulf. This is where the religious literacy in the work comes from: as a field with its own sources and methods, not as personal opinion.

  3. United Arab Emirates

    Current practice

Counseling and coaching with adults, specialist consultation for professionals, and training and consultancy for organisations and companies, in a working environment where clients and colleagues come from everywhere.

To be confirmedYears are deliberately left out of this sequence until each period is confirmed (§21.3). Add them here once they are.

Qualifications

Listed in three tiers, and deliberately not merged.

A university degree, a professional training programme and a short course are different things. They are set out separately here, in that order, and nothing in the lower tiers is presented as equivalent to the one above it.

  1. Formal academic education

University degrees. Multi-year programmes, formally awarded.

    • M.Jur. (Master of Jurisprudence in Islamic Jurisprudence)

Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University

The study of Islamic theology and law as a discipline with its own sources and methods. It is the reason religious context can be discussed precisely in this practice rather than approximated.

To be confirmedConfirm the exact degree wording as it should read in English and German, and whether the legacy Bachelor’s credential is to be listed alongside it (§44.3, §44.4).

  2. Selected professional training

Structured professional programmes in psychology, counseling methods, coaching and leadership. Training, not degrees, and listed separately for that reason.

Awaiting verified entriesNo entries published yet. The tier exists; its contents are still being verified.

To be confirmedThe legacy professional-training list (§21.5) is a verification inventory, not copy. Before any entry appears here, confirm for each one: the awarding body’s exact legal name and spelling (the legacy list contains at least one apparent misspelling of a well-known institution); the exact credential wording; whether it was a course, certificate, diploma or programme, and its length; the year; whether it is still current; and whether it may be named publicly. Unevidenced entries stay off the site (§44.5, §44.6).

  3. Continuing professional development

Short courses, seminars and updates. Ongoing, expected of any serious practitioner, and never a substitute for the two tiers above.

Awaiting verified entriesNo entries published yet. The tier exists; its contents are still being verified.

To be confirmedSame verification standard as the tier above, plus one editorial decision: whether individual short courses are named here at all, or whether this tier is summarised in a single line. An itemised list of short courses reads as a credential wall, which the brief rules out (§43).

Professional standing

Muhammad is a Psychological Counselor, Wellbeing & Psychology Coach, Consultant and Trainer. He is not a psychiatrist, a licensed psychotherapist, a physician or a regulated clinical psychologist, and does not present his work as any of those.

Psychological counseling and coaching are psychologically informed and draw on evidence-informed approaches. They are not psychotherapy and do not replace medical or psychiatric treatment.

To be confirmedConfirm the exact professional title or titles Muhammad may use publicly in the UAE, and whether any regulatory wording has to appear alongside them (§44.1).

Current work

Where Muhammad practises now.

  • Psychological Counselor, Coach, Consultant and Trainer

    MindWise Coaching & Consultancy

To be confirmedConfirm the exact public title used at Adults by Insights Psychology, and how that relationship should be described (§44.2, §44.21).

To be confirmedNo organisation logo appears on this page. Logos and relationship wording are only used once permission and the exact nature of each relationship are verified (§21.5, §44.20).
